This tool takes your Google Drive file sharing URL, which is a URL that looks something like this:

And it extracts the file ID, the part between /d/ and /view, and puts it into a new URL that looks like this:

How to download using Google Drive Downloader?

Step 1: Go to Google Drive.

Step 2: Make sure that the "General access" option is set to "Anyone with the link".

Step 3: Right-click the file that you want to share. Then click on "Get link".

Step 4: Click on the "Copy link" button to retrieve the shareable link.

Step 5: Paste the link in the input box and click "Create Direct Link" to generate the download link.

Important Notes

  1. This Google Drive Downloader tool only works for files whose visibility is set to "Anyone with the link". If it is set to "Restricted," then only users who are signed in and have been granted access will be able to download the file (which probably defeats the purpose).
  2. You can only download files that have been uploaded to Google Drive. Docs/Sheets/Slides created in Google Drive cannot be downloaded.
  3. For large files, the direct link may first open a page that says "Only files smaller than 100 MB can be scanned for viruses". This page contains a button to download the file.
  4. You cannot download Google Drive folders, Google Docs, or files that contain viruses.
  5. You cannot download restricted or view-only files.
